Early Life:


Surya Sen was born on 22 March 1894 in Noapara, Chittagong, his mother Sashibala and father Ramaniranjan Sen, a college teacher. Having lost his parents at a young age, he had been brought up his uncle, Gourimoni. 

While his research began at Doyamoyi Main School, he afterward got confessed to Noapara English High School, where he studied until Class 8. He attended Chittagong College after which Behrampore College because of his Bachelor of Arts degree.

Surya A revolutionary in mind, he had been the primary architect of this anti-British liberty movement in Chittagong, Bengal. He had been instrumental in creating the momentum to get a nationally non-cooperation movement which spread too far corners of the nation.

The seed of revolution took root in his heart and that he jumped to combine innovative company Anushilan Samity. In addition, he became connected with the Indian National Congress, the most notable political party at that moment. 

In 1916, when he had been studying Chittagong College, he had been Enthusiastic by one of the instructors to combine innovative actions in the pursuit of the nation's liberty. He became even more motivated when studying at Behrampore College that he came into touch with all the'Jugantar' group.

Back in 1918, after getting his B.A. level, Surya Sen returned to Chittagong and combined National School Nandankanan as a math teacher. In this time, he began establishing the existence of this'Jugantar' set in Chittagong.

He immediately made a name for himself from the society along with his lofty ideals, excellent oratory abilities, exceptional organizational capability, and most importantly, a chance to achieve and connect with ordinary men and women. His exalted social standing for a school teacher and fame with the local people left him the sobriquet of' Masterda'.

Chittagong Armoury Raid:

After finishing his research, he embarked on a teaching career and got much respect in this profession. He also continued his involvement with the freedom fighters with greater intensity and at 1930, directed a set of like-minded revolutionaries to raid the armory of authorities and auxiliary forces against the Chittagong armory.

Though the team had made elaborate plans to completely cut off Chittagong from the remainder of their British India, they weren't able to perform their strategy completely. The initial declaration of this Revolutionaries was the goal of the armory revolution and the next was to convene into the young folks of the nation for connecting from the Republican Army and struggle against colonial authorities. 

18th April was Good Friday and the European high officials weren't within the club. They discovered several heavy arms at the brute force's armory, but there weren't any bullets. So, they did not get the expected result from these types of ventures.

 However, Surya Sen could amass arms and explosives by raiding armor of Chittagong prison. Himangshu Bimal Sen, a radical was severely burnt while he had been hoping to set fire at the jail. Following this Surya Sen took refuge in the mountain and talking with the older members of this party he chose decision the revolutionaries will create an assault upon the British officers.

Masterda appointed Loknath Bal since the overall of Indian Republican Army and gave attention to led the revolution. 14 revolutionaries obtained martyr throughout 22nd April 1930's war. The principal group took refuge in the mountain under the direction of Surya Sen

Arrest & Death:

The British Government announced an award for shooting the principal group. At the meantime, authorities began a trial 24th July 1930 in Chittagong court at a particular tribunal. Masterda retained continuing his actions. June 1932 he purchased pritilata and Kalpana Dutt to ruin Chittagong Jail with dynamite.

However, their strategy was vain. Eleven revolutionaries were arrested for it. On 24th Pritilata created a powerful assault on the Chittagong European Club. Finally, a villager showed the hiding place of Surya Sen into authorities.

Tarakeswar Dastidar, the President of the  Jugantar Party, preparation to rescue Surya Sen from the Chittagong Jail. But his plan has been fail and Tarakeswar and along with others were arrested. Surya Sen and Tarekeswar Dostidar were Sentenced to death On 14 August 1933. Kalpana Dutt was sentenced life-term confinement.
